Blog Update: Too Many Updates to List and a Surprise at the End!
Admittedly, I am sitting here wiping off a thick layer of dust and clearing out the blog’s cobwebs. It has been almost exactly 4 months since my last post, and while I could sit here and make excuses for my absence, the true explanation is that I got focused on creating content on YouTube and lost some balance. I know it is time for a serious blog update!
I love to write and it’s been so fun documenting life here in the country. From adjusting to more peace and quiet, to learning about gardening, to keeping chickens. Everyday there’s something new and I’m so grateful for that! With my background in photography, I was able to pair my stories with photos as there is never a short supply of beautiful things to photograph out here. Sunsets, wildlife, trees, flowers. I’m inspired almost every time I walk out the door.
Shortly after launching the blog, I thought it would also be fun to start creating YouTube videos to accompany my articles and stories. You can see many of these videos in my posts, they are a kind of “live action” illustration to my stories. Truthfully, I started seeing more traction from these videos from a steadily-growing community of subscribers and new-found YouTube creator friends and that inspired me to create more videos and put the blog on the back burner for a while.
I do miss writing though and plan on being more consistent with the blog again, so with little planning, I’m writing this blog update and it feels really good! However, I do have a disclaimer…
As much as I intend to be more consistent with blog updates, we recently had a new, exciting addition to our family. Another furry, four-legged little lady. Meet Sunshine, aka “Sunny”!

She is currently 4.5 months old and, from what we know, some sort of border collie mix. Although, it seems pretty clear that there’s a lot of mixing going on with her.
Undoubtedly, there will be a lot more Sunny content around here. This is my first time raising a puppy and it is no joke! She is full of energy and has an adorably goofy personality. She is also incredibly sweet and snuggly. After losing our beloved Lucy Valentina in April, the decision to welcome a new dog into our family was something we didn’t take lightly. Sunny came into our lives somewhat unexpectedly but it’s now clear she was meant for us.
I’m happy to be back and thanks as always for reading!
